Upgrading module in OpenERP from command line

The syntax to do so is-
./openerp-server -d DBNAME -u MODULE_NAME

    im using ubuntu 14.04, and could you please tell me where can run the command that was showed by you? from the termimal ? what are the all before steps?

    1. Hi,
      You have to go to root directory of odoo where you will find openerp-server file.
      Remember, if you are using configuration file then you need to add -c /PATH/TO/CONFIG/FILE
      So, series of command will be-
      cd /opt/odoo8
      ./openerp-server -d DBNAME -u MODULE_NAME -c CONFIG_FILE
